Hey, I'm Luca
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Milan, Italy.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually grew into a new phase of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Italy wasn't in the plan for the long term. As with many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and different expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complicated than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and a lot of learning on the job. But gradually, routines formed. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built CopperHillGroup
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site exists to close that gap — practical guidance based on real life in Italy.
What This Site Does (and Does Not)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Italy
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when a real change occurs
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- Just another generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Italy continues, and the learning process goes on. As long as the information remains useful, I will continue recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Milan or anywhere in Italy, please feel free to get in touch.
Best regards,
Luca
